Lithia Motors Phase 1 – Salem, OR
Lithia motors decided to move the Honda, BMW and Volkswagen dealerships from downtown Salem to a more accessible piece of land in Salem. The project consisted of a bare piece of land, approximately 9 acres in overall size. Willamette Valley Excavating removed all vegetation and did a massive excavation and grading on Phase 1 of this project. The interesting thing about this project was the open graded aggregate that was later used as a storm detention system for the site. During excavation, we found three different existing foundations that were left by the previous owner of the land which were buried beneath the dirt and brush. This project consisted of 21,000 cubic yards of excavation and 64,360 tons of aggregate base. Complete excavation of the property took place in a six week period.
